Remember that “restoration project” that’s been sitting in the dirt since ’94? That’s a racecar, fool! Fulfill its destiny.
Of course the Lemons Forum has classifieds, with everything from stalled builds to turnkey, race-ready cars. For the stuff in between, just make sure it meets the current rules.
Craigslist (and Facebook Marketplace, etc.) prices are weirdly flexible when there’s a real human offering real money to haul something away…. In other words, that $1500 car is often $500 if you show up with cash and a trailer. And don’t forget you can sell things you don’t need, like interior stuff, and recoup that money into your budget.
That old cop car that can’t be used by normal humans because of “the incident” in the back seat? Lemons racer.
Be very careful with cars built for another racing series. There are often just enough rule differences that you’re better off starting from scratch. Always study the full Lemons Rulebook and the How to Not Fail Tech guide, and don’t be shy about contacting us if you aren’t sure.
