Pre-race track testing: Firebird will be holding a Friday test day for LeMons cars on the 1.1-mile West Course. Contact Rich Trimmer at Firebird Raceway directly for more information at 602.323.2010.
Friday, 22 January '10
7am: Gates Open
TBD: Pre-race track testing. Details above
Noon-5pm: Mandatory Friday Tech Inspection. Every car and at least one driver per team must be present for Tech Inspection on Friday. No Saturday Tech will be offered!
Saturday, 23 January '10
7am: Gates Open
9:15am: Mandatory Drivers' Meeting
10am-5pm: Race Session I
Sunday, 24 January '10
8:30am: Mandatory Drivers' Meeting
9am-4pm: Race Session II
Noon: People's Curse
4pm: Checkered Flag
4:30pm: Awards
7pm: Gates Close
THE CARS
Lights:Headlights and taillights recommended but not mandatory; brake lights mandatory
Rear side and back glass: No restrictions
Noise limit: 90dB @ 50 feet
FUELING RULES: MINIMUM 2-HOURPENALTY FOR ANY INFRACTION
Where: In paddock space only, details TBA during Driver's Meeting (don't bug us before then)
Who: Two people minimum with one holding extinguisher while fueling from jugs
Gear: All people in fuel area must wear the same safety gear as a driver when fueling from jugs
Car:Engine and kill switch must be off during fueling
Drive rchanges: No one allowed in the car during fueling; driver swaps OK when fueling complete
Other notes: Absolutely no other work allowed during fueling (tire checks, fluid checks, etc.)
PITS AND PADDOCK
Overnight Camping: Paddock camping allowed, no RV hookups
Vehicle Restrictions: None
Pit Assignments: First-come, first-auctioned
Barbecues Allowed: Yes, keep the flames in your pit
Running Water: Yes
Bathrooms: Towed in from construction sites far and wide
Electrical Hookups: A few outlets in the paddock
Pit Hours: Keep it to a low roar after racing hours
Fuel Sold On-Site: No. The nearest gas station is 1 mile from the track

From Phoenix metro area and points west: Follow Interstate 10 to exit 162 (Wild Horse Pass) and follow the signs for Firebird International Raceway.
From Tucson and points east: Go north on Interstate 10 to exit 163 (Queen Creek Rd). Take Queen Creek Rd west 0.5 miles and turn right onto Wild Horse Pass (Maricopa Rd). Or, take new exit 162 (Wild Horse Pass) and follow the signs to Firebird International Raceway. |
